Martin Luther: The Musical is an original creative work written by Peter Bodurtha and David Varvel. It is a satirical take on the life and theology of Martin Luther and the world of Reformation Europe. It was written in the fall of 2005 and first performed at Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in May 2006.
Running almost two hours with seven full production numbers, Martin Luther: The Musical is a significant musical work as well as a complete theatrical piece in its own right. It is the first full-length composition for Bodurtha and Varvel who have previously written shorter works--most notably Chernobyl: The Musical, and Coalition! The Musical! We encourage and welcome any comments or questions about Martin Luther: The Musical. If you have any questions about the next performance, audition dates, or general information about how you can see the show near you, please feel free to e-mail info@martinluthermusical.com.
